FeedbackCampMeeting, May 12-16, 2008
- "Just a quick note on how God touched us during campmeeting: So many ways ~ when Brother Gerald said that Jesus didn't live in a duplex - WOW - I liked that and like Job, God knows our hears and will give us the strength to stay faithful no matter what the devil throws at us. And finally, the Freemans saying: "We may be in the battle but Jesus has already won the war." How awesome - the reminder was good." -Beatrice
- "Dear Brother, what a wonderful time we had at the Camp Meeting. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of such a great meeting. God Bless, Gerald (Crabb)."
- "This week is really getting me out of my OLD comfort zone. Praise God cuz it was starting to get awful stuffy in there...And I'm planning on putting a condemned sign on the door to that zone and locking the door from the outside cuz I'm so much happier where I'm at now. Thank you OACC for being there when I needed you. GOD SURE DOES KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING!" - Hazel
Ladies Bible Study, Spring 2008
Stepping Up - A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent, Beth Moore
- "What I got out of this Bible Study most of all is how all of these women are so loving, caring, and open hearted. They seem like women that you could always turn to that would never judge. None of them are fake." -Christy
- "I have had to deal with personal areas of my own life that you think are okay until you are faced with having to deal with it - that's God! He has brought 16 women together & we've grown together, laughed & cried with and for each other. When we watched the videos, it was like she (Beth Moore) was talking directly to you. I thank God for this study and for each lady that He has put in my life because of it. My life has been changed." -Nora
- "United we stand, divided we fall. We must be united together, strong, shoulder to shoulder moving ever forward to God's purpose. We are all different but of the same Spirit. Thanks!" -Nancy
- "Thank you for this opportunity! This Bible Study for me was wonderful. I was so impressed by the open hearts of the ladies & by their faithfulness throughout the 6 weeks. I learned that each of us goes thru the same junk & by walking together we are strengthened on the journey. Although the price for seeing the course through seemed too high at times, in the end I'm thrilled to look Satan in the face & say, "YOU LOST! Christ WON in us!" -Emily
- "What I hope to get from this Bible Study: a closer relationship with God, the ability to take the steps needed to take, more understanding of Bible verses, to find me - to be a better me. What I got from this Bible Study: all I asked for and more. All we have to do is ask and we get all we need (plus some). Thank God for this blessing!" -Lorna
Miracle Prison Ministry - Inmate Response
- "I was at the medical prison in Augusta, Ga in early 1996 when, for the second time I met Larry. Our first meeting had occurred the previous year at the prison in Jackson, GA. he had sang and preached at a chapel service and I clearly recalled his testimony of living for Christ in prison and now outside of prison as well. I suppose what drew my attention that evening was the fact that he identified with me..with us. Even more so, he was one of us and we knew it. somehow, he had lived through his prison experience with Christ as his Lord, and now he challenged us to do the same. What this all meant at that time, I did not know. All I did know was a heavy clouded mind and a heart filled with confusion, anger, depression and uncertainty. So, here I was a few months later temporarily transplanted in Augusta awaiting medical treatment, feeling depressed and bewildered about the present and the future. I had only recently begun serving my sentence, a lengthy one, the previous year, and over the few short months of confinement I quickly discovered that above all else I was spiritually bankrupt. Feeling aimless and devoid of any hope, I sat pondering my life only to be interrupted by a call for the evening chapel service. I sluggishly meandered in and quickly found a seat in the back row, my usual spot. Since I was in a transient status, I had virtually nothing in my possession when I arrived here. Looking up, I notice several familiar faces, most notably those of Larry, Del and Frieda. I smiled on the inside, I believe my heart uplifted a bit at the sight of familiar faces. Once again I sat and listened to the music and Larry's testimony, and I and I suspect others in the sparse crowd quickly became enveloped by his humility, love and good humor. His emphasis on repentance and a relationship with Christ seeking and trusting Him first..hit me hard, very hard. Being at rock bottom meant the message resonated clearly in my h heart and watered a seed I now believe the Lord had help plant, a seed He was now stimulating to grow. After the service, he greeted me warmly and encouraged me to seek Christ first above all else. Whether or not he recognized me, I didn't know or particularly care. What mattered was that I remembered his testimony about Jesus Christ and the genuine hope and purpose that I found in that message. I left that evening over 12 years ago thankful for that brief moment, that clear reminder that all hope was not lost, that God's redemptive plan was available even to me. I've never forgotten this point." Mark McKenna
- "Just a few lines to inform you that once again the Lord has used you, Del & Freida and Miracle Prison Ministries to bless a man's life. I didn't even realize he was there even after I did invite him. His name is Steven and I've been trying to work with him. Well, after your service he came up to me in the cell block telling me how much he 'liked dem' as he put it. He now wants to be part of Open Arms Community Church and be baptized by 'dat preacher.' That's not all! Because of only a third grade education, he now has me reading a chapter of scriptures to him a day. I do it from five different versions, starting and ending with KJV, making it six times reading the same chapter. Then I have him asking questions and telling me about what was read. He's a lot smarter than he gives himself credit for. Thanks again for allowing the Lord to use you and everyone in the ministry. May God greatly bless each and every one of you! Hallelujah for you and Miracle Ministries!!!"
- "I want to take the opportunity to thank you and your church for what you do for us here at ASMP. Your service is always a breath of fresh air and sparks a revival each time. I find myself counting the days until your return. I can just feel God's presence in your services. I praise and thank God for your desire, dedication, and commitment to take time to come worship with us here at ASMP. It is my prayer that God continues to bless you and your church and keep you in His will. And if you will please keep me and my family in your prayers."
- "My name is Alex Gamadanis. I'm 25 years old I've been out of prison for 5 months now and God has done so much. I now have a Youth Ministry "DRIVEN" where I'm the leader/teacher and run the PA & play guitar at my church. I always enjoyed you guys when you came I was at Johnson for a year. I did 2 years in prison I gave my life to the Lord early on and studied day and night because the Lord let me know early on I would be teaching youth. This is just some of my testimony. I was interested in trying to get some of yall's music for me and my dad, who plays bass in our church, I hope one day I can find a way for him to see you guys - I know he would love yall! I was singing that song "I'm not giving up..." this morning and it made me think of yall. I will keep yall in my prayers and please let me know how I can maybe get a cd with at least that song on there. Thanks for what you do - it's not in vain, take it from at least one young man who was blessed by what you guys did! May God bless yall in all you do in Jesus name!"
